The Spirit of Adventure is deeply rooted in the history of the Johnson family and our company. It inspired H.F. Johnson Jr. to embark on the Carnauba Expedition in 1935, and it inspired us to launch a new adventure --- a journey to Indonesia to search for the plane H.F. flew on his momentous trip to Brazil. |

In Indonesia, we found a land of magnificent beauty and delightful people. It is truly one of the last unspoiled places on Earth --- in some ways untouched by time. We considered the search an appropriate beginning for our larger journey -- the re-creation of the Carnauba Expedition -- and hoped to bring back the brass plate that identified the plane and its former owner, S.C. Johnson & Son, Inc. |

We uncovered the history of the plane and details about its final flight. We explored a beautiful country and met charming people. We would have loved to find the plane. But even though we did not, we had a very exciting adventure. . |
